There is no shortage of web designers in Worcester. If you want a site designed, you have plenty of options within a mile of the Cross. This page is about a narrower thing: WordPress sites written by hand rather than assembled in a page builder, and ongoing maintenance for sites that already exist.

What Worcester businesses tend to arrive with
The city runs on professional services, hospitality, retail and the businesses out at Worcester Six and Blackpole. The sectors differ; the website problems do not:
- A site built four or five years ago by an agency that has since stopped replying.
- A page-builder site that has quietly become slow, usually after a couple of years of plugin accumulation nobody was tracking.
- Hosting nobody can log into, on a plan nobody remembers signing up for.
- A contact form that has been silently failing for months, which nobody notices until someone tests it.
That last one is more common than it should be. It is worth testing your own form today, whoever built the site.
What to ask any Worcester web designer before you hire them
This applies whether or not you get in touch here. Five questions that will tell you most of what you need to know:
- Who owns the site when I am done? You should own the domain, the hosting account and the files. If any of those sit in the agency name, you are renting.
- What is it built on? If the answer is a page builder, ask what happens to your site if you stop paying for the licence.
- Can I edit it myself afterwards? And specifically: without buying anything or breaking the layout.
- Who keeps it updated after launch? If the answer is vague, the answer is nobody.
- What is your response time when something breaks? A number in writing, not a promise to be responsive.
Meeting in person
Most of the work runs by email, which keeps things clear and leaves a record. That said, Worcester is twenty minutes away, so an actual meeting is possible for a project that warrants one, and it is a real offer rather than a line on a website written by someone in another county.
